Our fire ant treatment program uses a two-step approach: broadcast bait application to eliminate colonies across your entire property, followed by targeted mound treatments for immediate knockdown. We provide ongoing monitoring and re-treatment to keep your property fire ant-free.

Fire ants are an aggressive invasive species that have established permanent populations across central North Carolina. A single colony can contain 200,000 to 500,000 workers, and their painful stings pose a genuine health risk — especially to children, elderly residents, and anyone with allergic sensitivities. Fire ant mounds appear seemingly overnight in lawns, garden beds, along sidewalks, and near foundations, and disturbing a mound triggers an immediate, coordinated attack from thousands of workers.

Our fire ant treatment program uses a two-phase approach for maximum effectiveness. First, we apply a broadcast bait across your entire property. Worker ants carry the bait back to the colony and share it with the queen, eliminating the colony from within over seven to fourteen days. Second, we apply a direct mound treatment to any active mounds for immediate knockdown. This dual approach addresses both visible mounds and the satellite colonies that are often hidden beneath the surface.

Because fire ants are constantly migrating from neighboring properties and undeveloped land, we recommend ongoing treatment rather than one-time applications. Our seasonal program includes two to three treatments per year timed to coincide with peak fire ant activity in spring and fall. For properties adjacent to wooded areas or fields — common in communities like Cameron, Broadway, and Lillington — more frequent treatments may be necessary to maintain control.
